Had my first $10 cup of coffee this week from this machine. So good...it makes regular coffee taste like swill. How many times can I spend $10 on coffee though?
The Japanese siphon bar, which makes brewed coffee, at the Blue Bottle Café in San Francisco. The only halogen-powered model in the United States, the siphon bar was imported from Japan at a cost of more than $20,000.

[this is good] Sampled the siphon earlier this week. It was really pretty good. Not sure if it was ten bucks good, but good. I loved the science-class beakers and fragile glass mugs the final product is served in.
Yah, I felt like I was part of some mad scientist experiment. We were there Monday and had already gotten coffee when I started talking to the guy about the machine. He gave me a sample in a mini-beaker!

Just looking at that makes me feel so-overcaffeinated-I'm-ill again.
Which is to say, let's plan to do it again when Krissy's here.

Just don't spill your drink again!

At $10, I'm guessing they'll make that $20,000 in no time.
