One of the last bits to replace on my bike after the spill is the headlight case, the conical part of the headlight that holds on to the light itself. It had a chunk missing that meant that the headlight would slowly start to fall forward. To remedy this in the short term, I used duct tape to hold the light in place. But as one might imagine, that did not look very stylish. Duct tape on your vehicle spells trailer park, night shift at the hammer factory, side job as a bird shooter at the airport.
I got the new light on eBay for $46.00 which was a steal considering it came with the headlight light as well. I had already bought a new headlight only on eBay for about the same amount, so I now have an extra in case I need it.
I was a bit worried about installing this since I found out that the headlight case is where *all* the wires in the front of the bike converge. I would have to pull out all those wires from the back and feed then back into the new case.
Luckily however, it went without a hitch and the bike is now duct tape free!
